My name is Jeffrey Stagg, of course you know that, but I wanted share a bit of my thoughts with my audience without fully going through my characters.
Just to talk a little about the start of my writings.
Before A Campfire Nightmare, I took a shot at writing several other books, but they fizzled out. I can easily say I wrote about 4 different books that were only halfway completed before I realized that it was either too complicated or it wouldn't have the appeal that readers are looking for.
It wasn't after about two years of working at Beehive Cheese Co., I began forming the idea of building a camp on the shores of Flathead Lake as I washed cheese hoops and sealed hundreds of bags of cheese. My love for Flathead is undying, visiting twice every year with my family since I was born.
But, what kind of camp would I build? After watching several musicals, I knew that I would start a music camp, even though my musical abilities were really sub par... Which meant I would need something more that just music. This is where my imagination took over. What if there were monsters in the woods? Who would keep the campers safe? Why would the kids go there if there were monsters there?! It all became clear that I needed to write a book about it.
This was the first book I had written from start to finish and I realized that it was something I loved. My next step was to get some feedback. So, my friends became guinea pigs. Their suggestions and comments really took my book to a whole new level. With some minor tweaking, it was time for me to launch my own Urban Fantasy.
Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for reading this, and your interest in my books.
Never fear following your dreams.
